The Lift Studios is located in the heart of Asheville’s River Art’s District, at 349 Depot St. Situated along the French Broad River, the R.A.D. was once a bustling area with passenger trains, hotels, and businesses. It was the industrial hub of Asheville and, therefore, one of the oldest neighborhoods in town. But like so many other industrial districts, it was severely neglected and never quite recovered from the Great Depression.
Fortunately, there has been resurgence, starting slowly in the 80s and continuing strongly in the last 5 years, to organically redefine the area as a unique, arts-oriented district. With artists moving in and fixing up old warehouses as well as a diverse collection of other businesses, the River Arts District has become a destination of national renown.
We are surrounded by over 120 working artists and some of the best restaurants in Asheville. The River Arts District is a “Must See” when visiting Asheville.
